An existential picture from student days. The egotism of th= e=20 subject has blanked out the landscape.

2: Modern Painting=20 2010

Made for "Jasper &=3B Harry's Tate Modern"=2C which was = me and=20 Harry Pye's version of the Tate in a drycleaner. Not sure which modern arti= st=20 this is=2C sort of a few of them.

3: Frantz Fanon=20 2008

I half read FF's book "black skins=2C white masks" when I w= as a=20 teenager. This is based on awoman I saw near my studio in Dalston.

4: Himmler=20 2011

I painted a picture of Himmler which Charles Saatchi bought= from=20 my "Beauty Show" in 2008. Weirdly Nazis are my best sellers.<= /p>

5: Adolf Hitler=20 2012

I have been painting Nazis since I was an undergraduate. Al= ways=20 was completely gobsmacked by the Holocaust=2C and on and off have returned = to what=20 these guys were thinking=2C how it happened. It still freaks me out. This i= mage is=20 taken from a piece of colour footage I found on youtube. Hitler is lying do= wn=2C=20 thinking about stuff=2C not shouting or saluting as we usually see=20 him.

People often mispronounce my=20 name=2C it's meant to rhyme with coffee. Here is Julia Roberts with my adap= ted=20 signature Jof.

7: Liv with Ruff=20 2011

Was looking at some Rembrandts in the National Gallery. The= =20 ruffs are like neck braces. These actresses are beautiful and flawed and em= otive=20 and stuck being looked at.

8: Nicole with Long=20 Ruff 2011

Nicole Kidman with an elongated neck and diagonal=20 composition which is apparent in many of this series. Diagonals give energy= to=20 paintings.

9: Scarlett with Cross=20 2011

The surfaces beauty is transgressed by the mark of the cros= s.=20 There are these black silhouettes representing the crying viewer weeping at= the=20 Hollywood film (me).

10: Dog 2000

I was living in Rome= on a=20 scholarship and I painted this for a show called "Painting at Zero Gravity"= =20 which had a massive painting on the ceiling. The gallery thought people wou= ld=20 like some small paintings of dogs as well.

12: JJ for Jack Vettriano=20 2008

For a show on good/bad taste. I made Jack Vettriano's origi= nal a=20 lot more guttural. His paintings are obviously trying to be sexy=2C so thou= ght I'd=20 take it a bit further.

13: Amateur 2008

I did this for= an=20 ill-advised show called "Does the Royal Family like Pornography"=2C which d= espite=20 the shock-horror title was more a discussion of the ubiquity of pornography= =2C and=20 a questioning of whether it is hate filled misogyny or sexy fun.
