The beginning is great, strange very funny and visual, and you wish it =
would continue just like that, and you would be able to laugh and like a =
lot. Sadly plot takes over, and with the rush of events the good energy =
is dissipated in too many twists, and there is no time to enjoy the =
attractive characters and ideas. Then it ends happily with the good bad =
guy (Mr J. Phoenix)rewarded by the death of his enemies and getting the =
girl (the brilliant Ms A. Paquin), so you are left satisfied despite the =
thrillerish hole in the whole. Films about war within armies, and set in =
1989 West Germany are good.

Rambo First Blood a film

Exhilarating, surprising, coming home of violence. For long periods our =
anarchic hero John Rambo is silent, as he wreaks destruction, the =
Vietnam war literally displaced to smallanytown America, and there is =
beauty in his graceful dance of death.=20

A film with just movement and images is something to behold, no need for =
words, except at the end of course, when Rambo surrenders to his =
ex-commander, he can never be defeated though, except that he already =
has been by the politicians and the public who trained him to kill and =
then changed their minds.=20

Makes you want more films where war is carried on against normalcy. Or =
when one field of activity is carried on in the wrong arena.=20

The first rule is fatty shoulder not leg. Shoulder is cheaper and has =
better flavour and cooks moist.=20

Now turn up your oven as high as it will go. Imagine you are a greek =
shepherd roasting a young member of your flock split on a spit over the =
hottest coals.=20

In a pestle and mortar, bash up garlic, rosemary, salt, and chili =
flakes. Then add two spoons olive oil, and mush it some more. Take this =
delicious liquid and slather it over your shoulder. Pushing some into =
any pockets in the meat. Grind some pepper over the beautiful carne.=20

Now put it in a metal pan in the oven. The key is now to turn it after =
15/20 minutes, like it's rotating rotisserie style. The high heat seals =
the fatty meat, keeps it juicy, and creates a delicious crisp exterior. =
In fact most roast meat benefits from this technique (a whole chicken, =
pork shoulder etc). Turn it again 15 mins later. You can reduce the heat =
at this point to gas mark 6 or equivalent.Basically turn the oven down a =
bit to avoid charcoaling it.=20

A half shoulder to feed two greedy people or three bores, takes about =
1hour 30 mins, to be well done, but use your eyes to judge when to take =
it out. ( and it's not well down in a dry way).Let stand 10 mins on =
counter, at risk of shitty flies.=20

It is sensationally good. In winter I suggest potatoes, roast onions, =
gravy etc.,in summer couscous, and salad. I alway eat all meat with mRs =
Balls Chutney and a little chilli sauce. But don;t let that put you off. =

Buon appetito.=20
