Review
"Is Orlando going?" one posh person asked another. These were =
mass-middle-class protests of an astonishing size. The lack of apparent =
utility or causation to make war, seems to offend bourgeois morality. =
Where's the profit? they say. As a hardened anarchist I disliked this =
pleasant meander through London in the freezing weather, there was no =
violence or chaos in the air, the normal thrill of large crowds is in =
their danger,this mob wouldn't have littered let alone ripped up =
cobblestones and burned London. Still one must appreciate the effort of =
the many, and note that it is very unusual in the history of our nation =
of shopkeepers. We can only hope it augurs a change in the character of =
the chattering classes> perhaps something is going on.=20

Review
Predictably car drivers are against it, people who have to pay a fiver =
anyway to cram onto tubes and buses for the day can't see what they're =
moaning about. The issue is whether you think that traffic, pollution, =
and the use of fossil fuels should be reduced. If you do then you should =
support the congestion charge. It may not be perfect but all solutions =
to big problems require time and effort to work. Those who don't give a =
shit about the environment, will pretend they're worried about nurses =
and meatworkers but really they just don't care about the goal, and find =
it easier to criticise the means than come out and say: don't worry, =
let's destroy the planet. The media is hostile because it is owned and =
staffed by well-off car drivers, who can't stand the thought of being =
stuck with the plebs on bused ( remember the money raised will be used =
on public transport). My prediction is that the pessimism has been =
overdone and that the C. Charge be a success. The moaners and =
reactionaries and polluters have played their hand too soon and too =
strong.
